when you are no longer sure what your heart really wants,
what's right and what's wrong; what you desire becomes a myth.
this time,
Thursday, May 12, 2011
how should i put this, it's like after so long, after so much things have happened; seeing him again actually didnt give me much thoughts or feelings. maybe things have really been a past, part of me that's always going to be there but now the wound have healed, it doesnt hurt anymore
i totally fall for sweet guys, yes i do.
i don't know who will be the next person i will be so dependent on and trust so much of and when will he appear in my life . but what i do know is that if that someone ever come-by, i will love him w/ all my heart and will never let him go no matter what. cause the pain had been too much to bear; too hurtful to experience it again.
General Elections
Tuesday, May 03, 2011
was reading XiaXue’s blog just now and it really got me thinking; because seem like many of Singaporeans are blaming the government for various reasons mainly towards the foreign talent. but seriously let’s get real, unless you are willing to have 3 kids or more or Singapore are just gonna end up like Japan - a aging country. you are complaining that the foreigners are taking up space in the schools, in the workforce, in the hdbs even in the public transports. BUT. if you have the capability, they will not be a threat a you, besides it’s pretty obvious Singaporean still favor Singaporeans - you still have advantage over foreigners in Job Applications. In Singapore, it’s all about merits and qualifications, if u are lacking in it then for god sake improve on your own knowledge and skills, instead of complaining that your opportunities are taken by others. if you realize you are always not given the opportunities, that’s probably you are not up for it. if you dont have the skills, and the government is banning the foreigners to come in to fill up the gaps, Singapore’s not gona grow. at all.
one one’s perfect, and the government isn’t always right either. but at least, i believe the Singapore government always have the interest of the people at heart, the welfare of the people as the top priority. yes, there are still corrupted officials in the government but w/ a simple comparision with other country anyone smart enough to think should be able to realise how fortunate it is to be in Singapore.
i didn’t really pay much attention to the General Elections, but this one thing from the Oppositions caught my attention - the promise of implementing minimum wage. sounds very comprising to the low income families i guess? but, probably i current studies Economics in JC thus it does not sound all that promising to me. With the limited knowledge i have for macroeconomic, implementing minimum wage will probably increase the cost of production. As a Boss, to cut cost i might choose to retrench workers and make remaining workers to work overtime to meet the demand instead. Or if i do not retrench any workers, i will probably pass the increase in cost of production to consumers in form of higher price. Increase in income would have been a good thing if only the price of general goods remain, if the GPL increases too even with more income you might not even buy as much things as last time! comparing Unemployment and Low wages, or Higher wages but Higher Prices for Food,Housing,Transport and etc. Logically comparing, you will know which is more beneficial. Moreover, i believe if me as a JC2 student can understand this simple theory the Oppositions and the PAP do too!( aren’t they all scholars? ) If it’s all that good as the Opposition party put it, the government would have long implemented it instead of spending load of MONEY/TAX REVENUE in retraining, trying to increase the wokers’ wages by improving their skills and productivity and not just simply increasing it.
Okay, enough ranting. Just cant stand it when some of the Singaporeans are just going on and on complaining what the government has failed to done and being ungrateful for what they have done; or blaming the foreign workers for ‘stealing’ their jobs instead of reflecting on themselves.
OKay, maybe we students are just the same. Time to be responsible for our own learning instead of blaming the school or the teachers’ being incapable to each. Cause there’s always two-side to the story; and if they are able to stay in/get into that position, there has to be a reason behind it.
everything happens for a reason anyway
& Lastly, PAP fortheway (:
